Progressing from his regular role as a musical collaborator, Singapore jazz guitarist Andrew Lim now takes on the role of band leader with Artless State, a concert in which he shares his honest and unique take on his relationship with music.
He is joined by some of his favourite Singapore musicians, known for their keen sense of musical individualities and approach: Tan Weixiang (piano), Benjamin Poh (bass) and Aaron James Lee (drums).
About Andrew Lim
Andrew Lim has been an integral part of the jazz scene in Singapore and abroad since 2001. Over the years, he has performed on local, regional and international platforms. Playing at these festivals and in clubs around the world has enabled Lim to perform with musicians across all generations. An active performer, Lim moved to New York in 2011 and has played at notable jazz venues including the famed Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Centre, Dizzy’s, Zinc Bar, Smoke, and Mezzrow, among other local venues in the circuit.
Lim is currently based in Singapore serving as a National Arts Council Scholar, and continues to contribute to the local cultural fabric as an educator and musician. His reverence to melodies and soulful style have endeared him to audiences throughout the world as well as the musicians he’s worked with.
