Singapore International Piano Festival - Recital-Lecture with Darío Alejandro Ntaca
15 Jun 2018, 10:00 AM - 12:45 PM
In this lecture-recital led by veteran pianist and conductor Darío Alejandro Ntaca, piano aficionados will learn in-depth approaches to piano-playing and music, in the same way Ntaca as well as his long-time musical partner, the famed Martha Argerich, understand and practice them.
Ntaca will unravel the mysteries to their technique, their approach to music, effective and healthy piano practice, and performance - all key ingredients to Argerich's pianistic longevity and astounding music-making.
Through performances by top pianists based in Singapore, Ntaca will explore works from diverse periods and for which Argerich is particularly well-known throughout her illustrious career.
This one-of-a-kind full-day event will address some of the following key areas – the use of the body in music-making, sound and voicing, the concept of tempo, chamber collaboration, the relationship between the pianist's intuition and the composer's written work, and many more.
While this lecture-recital is designed for advanced students for teaching and soloist diploma, teachers and pianists, participation as a listener would also be enjoyable.
Morning Session (10am to 12:45pm) - Featuring music from the Baroque and Classical periods
Afternoon Session (2pm to 4:45pm) – Featuring music from the Romantic and early 20th century periods
Darío Alejandro Ntaca will be performing in a RECITAL and CONCERT at the Esplanade Concert Hall on 11 & 13 June respectively.
