Follow percussionist Mohamed Noor and didgeridoo master Reggie Perera, on a journey through a soundscape of wonder and enchantment. This concert features one of the world’s oldest wind instruments, the didgeridoo, alongside the handpan (a modern tuned percussion instrument), jaw harp and other exotic percussion instruments from around the world.
About Mohamed Noor
Growing up in a multi-talented musical family, Mohamed Noor began his music career playing percussion at the age of 5. His desire and love for music has inspired him to play a great variety of percussion instruments from around the world. Today, he plays more than 25 percussion instruments, and has made a name for himself as a versatile percussionist and drummer.
With his wealth of musical experience, the multi-talented percussionist, drummer, composer, arranger and producer has created a unique style for himself playing the drums and percussion together. He currently performs actively in the Singapore night scene, and is also involved in promoting drums and percussion in Singapore and Southeast Asia, actively teaching and conducting masterclasses around Asia.
About Reggie Perera
Reggie Perera is Singapore's first and most accomplished didgeridoo player, with over 25 years of experience in the ancient art form. He studied under grandmasters Djalu Guruwiwi and the late David Blanasi from Arnhem Land, NT, Australia. Perera has also been part of Singapore’s premier percussion band, Tribal Tide, since 1997. He has performed at major international art festivals, concerts and events. Apart from playing the didjeridu, Perera also plays percussion and has toured and recorded with Bobby McFerrin and popular artists including A*Mei, Sally Yeh, F.I.R, Stefanie Sun, Corrine May, Ling Kai and Kit Chan.
