SHAMANIC DRUMMING FOR INNER EXPLORATION
14 Sep 2018, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Yin Ling is known for her naturalness, virtuosity and affinity with the shamanic drum. She was never trained professionally but rather connected simply into the heart of the practice. She hopes to bring this ease, simplicity and grace to all who she shares with.
Drumming has been used in all cultures for thousands of years as a means to bring communities together and enter states of meditation and celebration.
Research indicates that drumming accelerates physical healing and boosts the immune system, reduces tension, anxiety and stress and even helps control chronic pain. (project-resiliency.org/resiliency/the-benefits-of-druming/)
In this 2 Hour workshop we will work with a round frame drum as used by shamanic cultures across the world. We will explore its symbolism and significance, explore our inner sense of rhythm, engage in basic beats and rhythms and have an improvisational session to integrate the practice.
We will end with a short drumming meditation journey led by facilitator Yin Ling, where we can explore our imaginative landscapes and gain insights through our subconscious.
This workshop is structured so that you will have the tools to begin a drumming meditation self practice.
Round frame drums will be provided during the class and will also be available for sale.
