Sang Matahari Tidur Mati is a heavy shoegaze/post-rock outfit from Singapore. Founded in 2013 by vocalist-guitarist Nur Amalie and guitarist Nash Azraf, their music draws inspiration from experimental and psychedelic rock legends like Pink Floyd, Deftones and Soundgarden, as well as Singapore bands B-Quartet and Concave Scream.
They performed at the 100 Bands Festival (2015) in Singapore before hitting the road to tour Malaysia with fellow Singapore bands Hardihood and Silver Machine in 2016, sharing stages in Johor Bahru, Malacca, Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur. They returned to Kuala Lumpur that year with Singapore band Wormrot to perform alongside Weekend Nacho (US) as part of the former’s farewell Southeast-Asian tour. With the additions of Hafiz Ramlan on bass and Fairuz Fahmie on drums and percussion, it is time once again to get your loose sway ready.
