Fusion Beats Mentorship Bands

The third instalment of the Fusion Beats Mentorship Programme kicked off in August as a platform to groom budding bands performing Indian and fusion music. The 4 bands selected were mentored by veterans Md Raffee, Md Noor and Md Bashir, over eight sessions.
7pm | Mayan Sun
A band that plays Indian and English originals in the local rock music scene is somewhat unheard of. Formed in 2015, Mayan Sun surprises audiences as they ride through gigs performing carnatic rock. Influenced by Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Beatles, MUSE, Kings of Leon and AR Rahman. Mayan Sun will have you rocking out.
8pm | The Band Walle
“The band walle” is a colloquial term referring to musicians of military bands that once played at colonial ceremonial events in India. After the Indian colonies were dissolved, these musicians turned to playing popular ethnic music appropriate for the cultural ceremonies of laypersons and common folk. The Band Walle come together to carry forth this confluence of two worlds, the West and India.
9pm | Brahmastra
Brahmastra present popular Indian contemporary numbers, popular cinema genres and originals.
A Singapore-based indian contemporary band with the aim of preserving the traditional arts and music worldwide, the band has produced numerous singles and re-arranged Indian traditional music with the fusion of western and Asian musical systems. The band aims to reach the regional clusters of Asia while developing and integrating various forms of music.
