Classical guitarist Kevin Loh returns to the Esplanade Concourse for the 11th year! This time, he shares with us more music on the classical guitar and what it can do with other instruments. He is joined by his former schoolmate from the Yehudi Menuhin School, violinist Helena Dawn Yah, with a selection of music from Bach to Debussy and Ellington.
About Kevin Loh
Kevin Loh is one of Asia’s leading classical guitarists. He is the recipient of the 2018 Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award and the 2010 HSBC Youth Excellence Award for Musical Excellence, alongside numerous international accolades including the 1st Prize in the open category at the 34th Volos International Guitar Festival and Competition. He is a graduate of the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School, and has performed in many festivals and prominent venues throughout the UK, US, Europe and Asia, including the world premiere of the Guitar Concerto by Prof. Bernard Tan with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
About Helena Dawn Yah
Helena Dawn Yah started violin lessons at the age of two under Yah Wan Har, and later studied with Lim Soon Lee. Inaugural winner of the Goh Soon Tioe Centenary Award, Helena is a graduate of the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School and Royal College of Music, where she studied under Natalia Boyarsky. She was a scholar throughout her time at the RCM, where she completed her BMus (Hons) and MMus degrees. Helena has given solo concerts and recitals on both international and local stages. She has also spent time at the Yehudi Menuhin School as a teaching assistant to Natalia Boyarsky.
