Day Out@Esplanade is a half-day general arts exposure experience conducted in various venues in Esplanade.
Start the day with a performance by NADI Singapura at the outdoor theatre as they take you on a journey through Malay percussion-based music featuring various instruments from the Malayan Archipelago.
Next up, facilitated by youth docents, students will experience visual arts installations by artists, Jerermy Sharma and Torlarp Larpjaroensook. Students will also get the opportunity to experience through play, by interacting with selected installations as part of Flipside 2019 at Esplanade.
Develop an awareness of and appreciation for Malay percussion music
Identify the different percussive instruments from the Malayan Archipelago visually and aurally
Identify and differentiate visual qualities from the art installations
Develop skills in observation and information gathering
Discuss artworks using basic art vocabulary
Gain an understanding of how art is used to express and communicate ideas about diversity, heritage and identity
