The Psalms & Permanence
3 Feb 2018, 7:00 PM - 7:45 PM
Join Permanence and The Psalms as they perform songs off their releases. The latter showcases numbers from their first EP, inspired by the Daniel Quinn’s book, Ishmael’s Wishlist.
PERMANENCE is comprised of sibling duo Irfan Ramli and Hydhir Ramli. Their music blends jarring textures and odd-time signatures with elements of post-rock, embellished with a layer of emotions that express the human condition and the infinite. With a debut EP, Primordial, under their belt, the band is currently recording a full-length album expected to be released mid-2018.
About The Psalms
The Psalms was formed in Singapore, circa 2006. Initially, the band dabbled in music influenced by Daughters and The Locust which influenced their interest in how music is experience via discordance or dissonance. Their first EP, Ishmael's Wishlist, inspired by the book, Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, was released in physical and digital formats by HeWhoCorrupts. Proceeds from digital sales are donated to Singapore's Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES).
The band's current line-up includes Nur Suhaili (lead vocals), Mamat (guitars), Mish'aal (bass), Wan Gondrong (keyboards) and Isyraf (drums). They are working on an album recording.
