The Council presents JMCEE (Breakfast Club, Melbourne)
17 Feb 2018, 10:00 PM
18 Feb 2018, 4:00 AM
Our next guest, Melbourne selector Jmcee music, will be bringing a splash of bright house tunes Upstairs to make you move your feet. A music journalist before he ever laid a hand on the turntables, Jmcee was already well-versed with dance music - this gave him an edge that he sought to use to his advantage; he approached each set with the cornerstone philosophy of how much the "now" is indebted to the "then".
You’ll notice a seamless weaving of offcut samples like afro american grooves and spiritual rhythms into a tapestry of jagged, dry percussion based tech - Jmcee aims to bridge the often neglected gap between the modern day 4/4 and the grooves of the past.
Join us Upstairs as Jmcee unveils the essential aural features of dance music's place of origin to keep you dancing all night.

Adrian Wee / weelikeme
Raised on a high-gluten diet of 90s techno, electronic and rock, Adrian survived Y2K and established himself as a familiar face behind the decks - leaving his residue on the decks of almost every club in Singapore.
CATS ON CRACK
Probably Singapore’s shortest DJ with a sound that sits somewhere between emotional house and cosmic techno.
