As our year of the music and discovery continuous. We are celebrating the Rhythms of Africa through the African percussion ensemble Segude. A night of the ancestral, tribal and the artistic. You will be shaken and moved by West African Tam Tam rhythms, carefully crafted to appeal to the real African but open to all nationalities and cultures. Tonight we are bringing Africa to you!
The first set will kick off at 9.30PM, leaving some space for master DJ Groove and guest DJ, DJ Moonstruck to mesmerise you with the purest forms of Afrobeats to Afrohouse and west African Zouglou among others. The party goes on after the band performance with DJ Groove till early hours.
Who is Segude?:
Segude is a collective of drumming enthusiasts from Singapore, Tunisia, Poland, Sri Lanka, Japan, Switzerland, Venezuela and France. The collective emerged from members of Djembe Singapore Club, a local drumming community founded over 10 years ago by Kelvin Kew. Bounded by the passion for West African rhythms, Segude members try to communicate to people the joy and the experience whenever they play the instruments.
